When Hunters Jordyn and Carter Flynn go missing in Thailand searching for on of five shards of the magical mirror from Snow White, their sons Paxton (Robbie Amell) and Trip discover the secret about their parents and go on a quest to retrieve the mirror shards before the Krugen does.  Tagging along is Hunter Dylan Savini (Alexa Vega) who had a relationship with Paxton (after being introduced to each by Paxton’s parents). They receive help from ex-Hunter Mason (Victor Garber) in their quest for the shards.   Who can they trust?  Will they rescue their parents?  Will Paxton and Dylan get back together?

THE HUNTERS is an enjoyable action romp for the whole family.  It doesn’t stretch itself too much, but a little more effort on crafting the story would make me want to see a sequel.    ITfalls too much on stereotypes at times and the ending scene feels too much like a TV commercial moment instead of a sequel moment.   It will be of interest to fans of Robbie Amell (who stars in The CW’s TOMORROW PEOPLE re-imagining).   I think this movie would have had a better chance of finding an audience as a video store rental instead of being a Walmart exclusive on Blu-ray and DVD.

FINAL ANALYSIS:   THE HUNTERS is an enjoyable action adventure for the family and fans of Robbie Amell.  It may even appeal to fans of ONCE UPON A TIME since the movie is about treasure hunters who go after mythic artifacts to make sure they don’t fall in the wrong hands.   It is good for one viewing, but a better script would have wanted me to see a sequel instead of THE HUNTERS feeling like a made for TV movie that could have been great instead of a one time romp to be forgotten.
