Hiro is a very smart kid who finds what he wants to do with his life when tragedy strikes and he has to get the help of his inflatable robot friend called Baymax.   He is out to stop a masked villain roaming the streets of San Fransokyo and he needs the help of his brother’s nerd friends like Go Go Tomago, Honey Lemon, Wasabi, and fanboy Fred.   They devise superhero identities while using their nerd know-how to create technology to fight this masked villain.   BIG HERO 6 is a very fun superhero animated film with great character development and plenty of details from the cityscape to the humor.    Baymax is the best sci-fi robot since C-3PO and R2-D2.  I loved all of the characters in this one as I love their quirks and flaws.  Also don’t miss the bonus scene at the end of the credits.  I hope Disney makes a sequel soon and you will realize how good BIG HERO 6 is (and why it won the Best Animated Film Oscar).

SPECIAL FEATURES:

FEAST theatrical short which is a delight to watch and it is the winner of best animated short Oscar.

THE ORIGIN STORY OF BIG HERO 6: HIRO’S JOURNEY- discover how the filmmakers turn the Marvel comic book into an animated Disney film and what they change from the comic book for the script and a look at how they built the look of San Fransokyo and the characters

The directors give introductions for two alternate openings which change the focus of the story (along with one of them spoiling a plot twist) and two additional deleted scenes cut for story reasons

There is also an Easter egg about Easter eggs called BIG HERO SECRETS which shows some of the Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph Easter Eggs among others hidden in BIG HERO 6.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  BIG HIRO 6 is a fun animated superhero origin story which is about loss, family, and friendship.  I hope they make a sequel super soon.
