A woman is drawn to the plight of a man on death row.  She decides to visit him after she discovers her husband is having an affair with another woman.  She takes him through different seasons with each visit as she connects with him in the little time he has left.

BREATH is a beautiful film.   It says so much with so few words where it saves what is said by the woman when she visits the man in prison. BREATH is an emotional journey of a woman who wants to live where the man wants to end his life as he waits for the end with frustration (wanting to end life on his terms with his multiple suicide attempts).   He lives for these moments while one of his cell mates regards it with jealously.   The husband of the woman is detached and she scorns him at every chance.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
The making of featurette is a dry behind-the-scenes affair while the Cannes featurettes (AT CANNES, CANNES RED CARPET)  feature not much with bad audio quality.   The interviews with the actors who play the woman and the husband give the most insight into the film and the characters.   Also included are trailers for upcoming Palisades Tartan releases.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  BREATH is mesmerizing emotional journey.   I liked the movie, but I wish the disc had better extras.
