CARGO is a science fiction film in the vein of ALIEN and SUNSHINE.    It is a cerebral sci-fi mystery.   Even though I guessed the twist before it was revealed, CARGO is one of those films that do stand as one of the best sci-fi films I have watched.   The special effects are good and the set design is top notch.   CARGO reveals and deepens the mystery.   It also makes me wonder what happens after the end of the story.   The film has ethical implications to the actions of the characters in the film and eco-terrorists who sabotage cargo ships are yet another layer this complex film.   CARGO builds from the first minute to the very end. CARGO is a film I came across after I watched a trailer on YouTube.  I tracked down the DVD through eBay.  It is out in Canada and there is no known release of this sci-fi gem in the USA as of yet.   I do wish the DVD had some extras other than trailers for other movies out on DVD from the company that released the film in Canada.   I am curious about how they made the film and even an audio commentary would be great.    I do hope this film sees release in the USA because CARGO deserves to be discovered by more science fiction fans. this DVD review is (c)3-6-2011 David Blackwell and cannot be reprinted without permission.  send all comments to feedback@enterline-media.com
