PETER PAN is one of the very few Disney animated films I like.  It is the tale of Peter Pan as he takes Wendy and her two younger brothers on an adventure to Neverland where they encounter dnager from Captain Hook and Native Americans.   Also Tinkerbell lets her feelings for Peter get the better of her as she is jealous of Wendy which leads to trouble for Tinkerbell and the Lost Boys.

PETER PAN has some fun moments and some well developed characters, but I do think Tinkerbell is a fuller character in the Tinkerbell animated films than what is seen here.  Captain Hook is perfectly evil while he has a fear for the croc that took his hand and having to deal with a crew that isn't very smart.   The picture does look fantastic on Blu-ray and it will make a fine addition for any fan of this film and the classic Disney animated films.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Deleted scene and never-before alternate ending

Deleted songs

GROWING UP WITH NINE OLD MEN- interviews with the children of the animators known as the Nine Old Men.  They recount stories of growing up with their fathers.

Disney Intermission

TINKER BELL: A FAIRY’S TALE

Classic DVD features are ported over for this release including the MAKING OF PETER PAN featurette, WHY I MADE PETER PAN by Walt Disney (a dramatized and abridged version of a magazine article Walt Disney wrote), THE STORY OF PETER PAN, and THE PETER PAN THAT ALMOST WAS (see all of the various things that changed while Disney and his team of animators developed the movie over the course of at least a decade).

FINAL ANALYSIS:  The Peter Pan blu-ray looks great with some great new extras like an alternate ending and the documentary on the children of the original Disney animators.  I still wish they could have done more with the live action footage they shot and included that as a more detailed extra.
