Tinker Bell is curious by nature and she journeys into the Winter Woods which are forbidden to cross by fairies, but she wants to know why her wings glow and what the book written by the Keeper (who lives in the Winter Woods) knows about it.   She discovers she has a sister, a Winter Fairy named Periwinkle.  Their adventures together start a chain of events that may threaten the Pixie Dust Tree in Pixie Hollow itself.  SECRET OF THE WINGS is an enjoyable and fun movie for the entire family with plenty of adventure and heart for all ages.   It expands on the mythos of the land where Tinker Bell lives and the various characters are people you can feel for.  Not bad for an animated film that is only 67 minutes (not including the 8 minutes of credits) that is thankfully light on Disney songs except one or two.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Disc 1 and Disc 2 have the same extras-

PIXIE HOLLOW GAMES- a 22 minute fun bonus adventures about teamwork and showing how teamwork is more important than winning.

“Great Divide” music video by McClain Sisters

“Dig Down Deeper” music video (for Pixie Hollow Games) by Zendaya

PIXIE PREVIEW: FRIGHT LIGHT- a fun one minute animate short

Disc 3 has the digital copy of SECRET OF THE WINGS while Disc 4 has the film on 3D Blu-ray.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  SECRET OF THE WINGS is fun for all ages.  I wish they had more extras like something on the making of this CGI animated film, but the Pixie Hollow Games shot is as fun as the main feature.
