It has been two years since the events in season 3 of BANSHEE and ex-con/ imposter posing as sheriff Lucas Hood (Antony Starr) is brought out of self-imposed exile when Rebecca Bowman (Lili Simmons) is found murdered.  He finds Brock has become sheriff of Banshee and Kai Proctor is the mayor of the town.  Meanwhile, Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) is waging a one woman war on the criminals of Banshee as a way to finish the mission to clean up her town that her dead husband left behind.   Also there is the question of whether Job (Hoon Lee) is still alive or not.  Hood has given up on his friend while Carrie still looks for clues on where and if Job is alive.    Lucas Hood must find a way to live again and forge a new future, but the question is if it will be with Carrie or not.   He first has to solve the murder of Rebecca which may be part of the work of a Satanic serial killer and he gets help from burned our FBI Agent Veronica Dawson (Eliza Dushku). Proctor looks to expand his criminal operations with the Columbian Cartel as the leader of the local Aryan Brotherhood wants to get Proctor out of the way despite what orders he has been given to the contrary.

BANSHEE’S final season is surprising and shocking as the previous seasons.  The show ends with a satisfying conclusion as this action/ neo-noir/ western is one of the best series I have ever watched.  I will miss BANSHEE, but I rather have it leave on a high note instead of outstaying its welcome.  It also doesn’t hurt to have the awesome badass charisma of Eliza Dushku as part of the cast this last season.  The last season has a couple died with flashbacks that led up to what is going in season 4.  Even though Rebecca is murdered, fans will feel her presence felt through flashbacks leading up to her death and discover she was the last lifeline for hermit Lucas Hood.   BANSHEE is having its best season since the first season.  If you haven’t checked out this show, it definitely could be your next binge worthy addiction if you love crazy violent crime series with plenty of action.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

ZOOMED IN featurettes for every episode which focuses on key moments and characters of each episode

Deleted scenes for select episodes

The episodes for BANSHEE ORIGINS on disc 1 are disappointing this time as it all takes place in Sugar’s bar and the prequel stories don’t really add to the characters at all.  You can skip these if you want to.

The CAST RETROSPECTIVE featurettes focus on Job’s most memorable outfits and the cast’s favorite fight scenes

Audio commentaries for ONLY ONE WAY A DOGFIGHT ENDS and REQUIEM

FINAL ANALYSIS:  BANSHEE will be missed.  It is of the best action dramas I have seen in years.  If you haven’t checked out the show, watch all four seasons and it is an addictive binge worthy series with a beginning, middle, and awesome conclusion.
