Guy Pearce is back for another six episode JACK IRISH mystery inspired by the book series since all four novels were adapted into three TV movies and the first season). This season starts with a flashback to events before season 1's story and then moves forward three years later in a new mystery where former lawyer turned private investigator Jack Irish starts investigating the death of his courier friend who was found in a mine shaft (after Jack gets a package returned to him that the courier was supposed to mail off three years ago). He gets tangled a web of conspiracy involving a shady college for international students studying in Australia and a drug company who are about to release a wonderful new drug. Meanwhile Jack's favorite pub may be sold, his friend Harry steps back into the horse racing world, and the granddaughter of his deceased furniture making mentor crosses paths with Jack. Jack also gets involved with a beautiful psychiatrist who may hold vital clues to Jack's case.

JACK IRISH is addictive as ever with its mix of well developed characters, great Australian settings, and a script with a mix of mystery, humor, and romance. It reflects on the past while setting ground to move the show to its next season. It also ties into social issues that are relevant to today's world.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
DISC ONE has a season one recap narrated by one of the patrons of Jack’s beloved pub

DISC TWO:
BEHIND-THE-SCENES featurette takes a look at the making of season two with footage and interviews
24 minutes of interviews with the cast
The cast answers twitter questions in another featurette

FINAL ANALYSIS: JACK IRISH season 2 is good as the TV movies and Season One. I hope we get another season soon.
