THE CURED has an interesting twist for a zombie movie. It takes place after 75% of the people infected by the Maze Virus (which turns them into homicidal zombies) are the cured. Only 25% of the infected can't be cured and they are known as the Resistant The Cured remember what they did and some people don't want the cured back among them because a few have lost people to the attacks form the infected. Ireland was especially hit and it is in an economic slump. Abbie (Ellen Page) agrees to accept her brother-in-law Senan to live with her and her son Cillian. Abbie's husband Luke is missing, but Senan can't get up the courage to tell her that he killed his brother while he was infected. Senan made friends with Conor after he was cured, but Conor is the one who infected Senan in the first place. Many of the Cured are housed in Rehab centers and some of them want to lash out at the public as they feel like second hand citizens who should have more rights.

THE CURED has a new twist on the genre for zombie movie and manages to focus on how people feel after they have been cured plus how some people would feel about the Cured being brought back into society. Ireland makes a perfect setting for the movie.

FINAL ANALYSIS: THE CURED provides a fresh twist on the zombie genre and you should at least rent it.
