28 DAYS LATER rocked, but 28 WEEKS LATER takes it all to the next level. The sequel to director Danny Boyle's sleeper hit is more terrifying and disturbing. All in all, 28 WEEKS LATER is a better film in all accounts. The deserted London streets still look eerie and beautiful.

This time, 28 WEEKS LATER begins with a father (Robert Caryle) who runs and leaves his wife behind when people (infecxted with the Rage virus) attacks the place they're holed up in witha few other people. Then the film goes to 28 weeks later when all of the infected have died off. The American military has decided to start repopulating London by bringing back British refugess. The father is reunited with his son and teenage daughter. Everything seems to go fine until his kids escape the settlement zone and find their mom alive. The catch is that she is a carrier for the Rage virus which causes everything to go bad when she is brought back. The US military will do again to stop the Rage virus even if it means killing the uninfected and firebomb the city.

28 WEEKS LATER is bleak and very visual. It shows what happens when something that finds a mean to survive comes abck to kick the chairs out from under everyone. The film went by so fast that I want to see another sequel made (they did leave it open for a 28 MONTHS LATER if they wish to one).

SPECIAL FEATURES: Before the main menu are forced trailers for DAYWATCH and SUNSHINE. I can see why they cut the two deleted scenes (with opitional audio commentary by the director and the producer), but the second one is interesting while the first was cut for pacing.

Co-Writer/Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and Co-Writer/Producer) Enrique Lopez Levigne do an audio commentary for the film.

Featurttes on the set are: COPDE RED: THE MAKING OF 28 WEEKS LATER THE INFECTED- behind-the-scenes of filming the actors who play the infected GETTING INTO THE ACTION- a look at the action in 28 WEEKS LATER and how the actors have keep up with it.

28 DAYS LATER- THE AFTERMATH is an animated graphic novel spilt up into two sections- Development (prequel to 28 DAYS LATER) and Decimation (prequel to 28 WEEKS LATER). trailers for various horror films- 28 WEEKS LATER, 28 DYAS LATER, WRONG TURN 2, and other round out the extras.

FINAL ANALYSIS: 28 WEEKS LATER improves on the first one. The sequel is even more bleak than the first. A good selection of extras on the DVD like with the first one (when it came to DVD).
