"For every decision, there is a consequence."
Those words ring true for everything the framed LAPD detective Hopper (Taye Diggs) does as his day repeats over and over
again as he tries to find out about why he is being framed for the murder of Assistant District Attorney Garza. DAY BREAK
is utterly amazing. It never stops as it is the best freaking TV pilot of the season next to THE NINE. Hell, it might even
be a better opener than the one for THE NINE. As long as DAY BREAK stays a single sseason series and keeps up the caliber
of writing and action, DAY BREAK could be one of the best shows of this season. Firefly fans will love the scene in the elevator
between Adam Baldwin and Taye Diggs.
DAY BREAK is a Groundhog Day type police thriller as Hopper repeats the same day over and over. His actions each time changes
events. Sometimes he ends up in the same places during a different time of day. Who is the mysterious man in the gravel pit
that wants Hopper to take the fall? He is trying to find out who wants him to be the fall guy for a crime he knows he didn't
do, protect the woman he loves and his sister's family from being killed, and live to see tomorrow (instead of repeating the
day one more time- which you will see him do for a few episodes). Word to the wise for ABC- no second season.
