THE INVISIBLE MAN is an action drama with a fair bit of comedy mixed in. This series only lasted on the Sci-Fi Channel for two season, but revissiting it is such an great experience. It makes me remember how great the series was and my memory still hasn't changed on that. The casting and writing amke THE INVISIBLE MAN work. The characters are brought to life through those two. We find out bits of info about each of the four main characters (Darien Fawkes aka The invisible Man, Claire (Darien's Keeper), Bobby Hobbes (Darien's slightly crazy partner at The Agency), and the Official aka Charlie Borden (the boss at The Agency)).

The mythology develops about the Quicksilver project (the gland that was made and put in Darien's brain that enables him to bend light and turn invisible), Quicksilver Madness (what happens when Darien doesn't get counteragent shots and he even goes into Stage Five Quicksilver Madness once), Arnaud De Fehrn (Darien's archenemy), Chrysalis (evil organization), and The Agency (who hides behind government agencies like the Department Of Fish and Game).

SPECIAL FEATURES:
Disc One has an audio commentary for the pilot movie by Creator-Executive Producer-Writer Matt Greenberg, Director Breck Eisner, and Series star Vincent Ventresca. They relate many stories about the production of the pilot movie from long nights and locations (yep they ahd to ADR some scenes due to filming in a warehouse next to a stone cutting place and a cemetary (which ahd a rave one night), the creative solutions they came up with (like the fake shower), and the small amount of money they had to deal with. Filming was split between San Diego and Mexico. Fantastic track. I hope they record a few for teh Second Season (please, Universal).

Disc Five has two extras. First is a bonus episode from Season Two (the first episode). Too bad it wasn't an episode with Season Two cast member Brandy ledford, but I do get the logic of including the first episode of Season Two. The second extra is an on-camera interview with Creator Matt Greenberg where he recounts a few things about the making of the pilot from casting to his sick mother's recation when it aired. He also mentions he met his wife through the show.

FINAL ANALYSIS: THE INVISIBLE MAN is a fntastic series to watch again. It has a great blend of comedy, drama, and action. Fans and people who never seen it will enjoy the characters and clever writing.
