Chris Pratt (Joseph Gordon- Levitt) suffers from short term memmory loss after a car accident four years ago. He was once a hockey player and now he struggles by in life as a nighttime janitor at a Kansas bank. He has to write things down in a notepad he carries around with him to help him remember and even leaves an extra car key in hs shoe is he locks his keys in his car. Jeff Daniels plays CHris Pratt's blind friend/ roomate. Chris has problems with his family and his adult case manager (who suffers from a head injury too). He doesn't talk to his ex-girlfriend (who lost a leg in the car accident). Then he is seduced by Luvlee (Isla Fisher) and a pair of bank roobers (who want him to help them rob the bank he works at). Chris has to decide what matters to him in his life and what direction he should take. He finds love again with someone who may (or may not) love him. The bank robbers are guys not to be trusted.

THE LOOKOUT is a nice thriller. It moves long at a nice pace and doesn't wear out it's welcome by going on for too long. A few dangling questions do rise that never get answered. The scene withe case manager isn't followed up on. THE LOOKOUT is entertaining enough for a rental.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

The film's audio commentary by writer/director Scott Frank and director of photography Alar Kivilo is a detailed track on the production of THE LOOKOUT from the use of locations, what CGI was used, and how the scenes were brokedown by locations and time.

The two featurettes are:

BEHIND THE MIND OF CHRIS PRATT- Joseph Gordon-Levitt talks about Chris Patt and how he approached playing Chris (he hanged around people who suffer from major head injuries).

SEQUENCING THE LOOKOUT- A look at the making of the film in this six chapter featurette. The film came together at the right time in the right way according to the producers.

FINAL ANALYSIS: THE LOOKOUT has a great performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It is a good way to pass 90 minutes. Rent the DVD.
