WALL.E is fun, entertaining, and very creative. The visuals carry the story in a film that has very little dialogue. It is one of the better animated films in the USA and from Disney in a long time. WALL.E is a lonely recycling robot left on Earth to clean it up since humans have abandoned it several hundred years ago. A survey robot, Eve, shows up one day and WALL.E's life is in for a new adventure. Before, all he had was old VHS tapes and a cockroach. He has developed a personality and lives beyond his programming. The film had me laughing and entertained including the end credits (look at the Pixar logo sequence at the end). The film is a romance story between two robots and the animation is incredible. I rate this one as my favorite Pixar film.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
Disc 1 has an audio commentary with the director. It also has two almost finished deleted scenes (with intros by the director). One scene is a reversal of a pivotal scene in the film. The most entertaining extra besides the two deleted scenes is the BURN.E animated short which shows a robot who doesn't have good things happening to him while trying to make one repair on the Axiom spaceship. Rounding out disc 1 is the Presto theatrical short, a useless sneak-peek at WALL.E'S TOUR OF THE UNIVERSE, and a featurette on the sound of WALL.E.

Disc 2 has two very rough unfinished deleted scenes in addition to a variety of extras. The short funny promotional vignettes with WALL.E (that were originally shown on the internet) are funny. The BOT FILES gives details on each robot in the film while the Bot Storybook is something I could live without.

Since I am a big film fan, I enjoyed the featurettes on the making of the film and THE PIXAR STORY documentary that chronicles the history of PIXAR from it's origins as part of Lucasfilm's ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) to being spun off as Pixar to it's sale to Steve Jobs to it's partnership and merger with Disney.

THE IMPERFECT LENS: CREATING THE LOOK OF WALL.E- a look at how they create the look of the film.
CAPTAIN'S LOG: THE EVOLUTION OF HUMANS- a look at how the humans evolved from a darker point in the story before being changed
NOTES ON A SCORE- the process involved between compose Thomas Newman and director Andrew Stanton in creating the score for WALL.E
LIFE OF A SHOT: DECONSTRUCTING THE PIXAR PROCESS- a look at the various people involved in creating the animation for WALL.E
WALL.E & EVE- the design of the film's two central characters including behind-the-scenes footage that shaped how WALL.E moved in the film

FINAL ANALYSIS: WALL.E is one of the best films of this year. One of the better US animated films in a long time. Great DVD extras will make film fans happy.
